Ozole general information

What is Ozole used for?

Ozole capsules 150mg are used to treat vaginal candidiasis (vaginal thrush) a yeast infection of the vagina with characteristic symptoms including vaginal itching and soreness, and white, odourless, discharge from the vagina.  Ozole capsules 150mg are intended as a one-off oral treatment and should provide relief of symptoms after the first day, although it may take several days to be fully effective.

How does Ozole work?

Ozole capsules 150mg contain fluconazole, which is a broad-spectrum antifungal drug belonging to the triazole group of antifungals.  Fluconazole in Ozole capsules 150mg is a potent and specific inhibitor of fungal enzymes necessary for the synthesis of ergosterol, an important component of fungal cell membrane that is not found in animal cells.  Fluconazole in Ozole capsules 150mg weakens the fungal cell membrane, causing the cell contents to leak out which kills the fungus, preventing the infection from spreading and relieving symptoms caused by the infection, including, itching and inflammation.

What does Ozole contain?

Ozole capsules 150mg contain the active ingredient fluconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal used to treat vaginal candidiasis.  They also contain lactose monohydrate, maize starch, sodium lauryl sulfate, colloidal anhydrous silica, and magnesium stearate. In addition, the capsules shells contain: gelatin, patent blue (E133) and titanium dioxide (E171). The black colour in the printing ink is black iron oxide (E172).

Treating vaginal thrush with Ozole

Ozole capsules 150mg contain fluconazole, a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal agent that is used to treat vaginal candidiasis (vaginal thrush), caused by the yeast Candida albicans.  The most common sites of thrush infection are the mucous membranes particularly of the vagina.  Fluconazole in Ozole capsules 150mg specifically inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol, an important component of the fungal cell membrane, which kills the fungus and stops it spreading.  Ozole capsules 150mg relieve the symptoms of vaginal thrush, including vaginal itching and soreness, and white, odourless, discharge from the vagina.  Ozole capsules 150mg are intended as a one-off oral treatment and should provide relief of symptoms after the first day, although it may take several days to be fully effective.
